A TJ Maxx store manager working at least 70 hours a week during busy times of year.
As our grandchildren got older, in school & in sports, their parents got busier. Less time for hanging out with Nona & Papa like they used too. We started thinking more and more about that ”little farm somewhere“ dream. We didn’t need this big of a house and we hadn’t been as emotionally connected to it since Cameron left the nest. We stayed mostly because his kids now had rooms here (And it had a great pool). But we could do that anywhere. In a farmhouse, on a farm, on some acreage, away from the city, ooohhh - and they could spend summers on the farm!
With our Amish farm we got most of that, except the starting off point of the farmhouse. Instead we got a small, dark and damp cottage with the grandkids sharing one room - hey, nothing is perfect. But as we remodel the shop into a big, open and airy home - it will be pretty close!
*Ollie still can’t understand why we didn’t just move the house and pool here WITH us!
